Výuková publikace Genetika rostlin shrnuje poznatky o struktuře jaderného, chloroplastového a mitochondriálního genomu vyšších rostlin, o nástrojích studia genů a genomů. Přičemž je důraz kladen na současné teoretické poznatky, ale i na využití některých poznatků molekulární genetiky rostlin v oblasti aplikovaného výzkumu. Učební pomůcka je určena pro studenty předmětů PřF: Bi8240 Genetika rostlin, Bi7240 Aplikovaná genetika a šlechtění rostlin.

Textbook Plant Genetics summarises knowledge about nuclear, chloroplast and mitochondrial genomes of Angiosperms, about tools enabling study of genes and genomes. Other chapters describe known genetic and molecular aspects of the fundamental mechanisms in plants, such as reproduction, flowering initiation, sex determination, incompatibility, resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses. Described mechanisms are completed with genetic determination by known genes or their groups. Attention is devoted to various directions of plant biotechnology (genetic modifications or transgenosis) and to applications in agriculture, medicine and human nutrition. This textbook ensures that students obtain knowledge on fundamental genetic and molecular principles of basic plant processes and some applications.
