Abstract

Kniha obsahuje sto slavných myšlenkových experimentů, které se týkají povahy prostoru a času, podstaty krásy, dobra, svobody, náboženství a osobní identity. Nacházejí se zde také smyšlené příklady zkoumající hranice lidské mysli, poznání, jazyka a spravedlnosti. Všechny myšlenkové experimenty jsou doplněny schematickými rozbory, jež zachycují jádro příkladu, očekávaný výsledek a použití daného experimentu v širší argumentaci. Tyto rozbory jsou aplikací originálního analytického rámce, jehož ambicí je identifikovat klíčové prvky každého experimentu, provedená zobecnění a vřazení příkladu do širší argumentace. Kniha tak vedle úvodní studie rekapitulující analytický rámec a jeho možnosti nabízí více než sto případových studií.

Abstract (in English)

The book contains one hundred of famous philosophical thought experiments considering nature of space and time, beauty, good, freedom, religion and personal identity. There are also hypothetical examples exploring borders of human mind, knowledge, language and justice. All thought experiments are provided wiht schematical analysis focusing on their experimental core, expected outcome and usage of particular example in broader argumentation. The reconstructions are results of application of the original analytical framework with ambition to identify key elements of each thought experiment, relevant generealizations and relation of the example to the broader argumentation. Besides the initial study summarizing the framewor, the book offers more than a hunderd case studies of thought experiment analysis.
