Abstract
In this paper we address the question of how the public sector developed in terms of size and structure of employment and salary levels between 1989 and 2010 (in the long-term and in times of crisis) in the Czech Republic and how these changes can be explained.

Článerk se zabývá rozvojem veřejného sektoru z hlediska rozsahu a struktury zaměstnanosti a úrovní mezd mezi lety 1989 až 2010 (v dlouhodobém pohledu a v době krize) a otázkou jak může být tento vývoj vysvětlen.
