Abstract

V originále

The definition of information literacy (IL) has undergone development since its first formulation. It has been shaped from the very beginning by information technology, as shown by a document analysis. Other types of literacy more reflect the influence of information technology. The results of analyses reveal that it is not sufficient to accept the importance of information technology for the field of IL, but that the new possibilities created for work with information through these technologies need to be taken into account. The intersections of these two fields should be dealt with in a broad-based discussion of the relevance of technology to the definition of IL. The aim of this article is to provide basic stimulus for this discussion.
