Abstract
Positive psychology is a current trend which offers a wealth of application possibilities in the field of education. It deals with the study and supporting of positive feelings, positive aspects of human personality and the conditions of effective functioning of teams and organizations. Great attention is paid to the identification of strengths and advantages of the individual and promoting their practical use in school and personal life. In this chapter readers are acquainted with arguments for the application of knowledge of positive psychology in education and introduced some of the results of the implemented programs of positive psychology, utilized not only for the prevention of socially pathological phenomena, but also for supporting personal well-being and thriving successful pupils.
