Technical parameters

The methodology defines: 1) processes for standardized electronic data collection, including parametric data structure and predefined code lists; 2) workflow of data collection and approval; 3) mathematical and statistical methods used for the data analysis; 4) reporting tools for the data visualization and publication. All relevant documents are available at www.pops-gmp.org/dwh. Statistical part of the methodology was published as a Technical Note to Chapter 3 of the Guidance on the Global Monitoring Plan for Persistent Organic Pollutants (UNEP/POPS/COP.6/INF/31, January 2013).

Abstract

V originále

The methodology was developed for purposes of the Stockholm Convention’s Global Monitoring Plan for Persistent Organic Pollutants (GMP POPs) as an important component of the effectiveness evaluation of the Convention, providing a harmonized organizational framework for the collection of comparable monitoring data on the presence of POPs from all regions, in order to identify changes in levels over time, as well as to provide information on their regional and global environmental transport.
