Předkládaná učebnice bude sloužit posluchačům studia archivnictví a pomocných věd historických jak v bakalářském tak magisterském stupni studia. Je členěna do šesti základních kapitol. V první se věnuje základním pojmům oboru. Druhá kapitola sleduje vývoj českých archivů. Třetí kapitola přináší přehled archivního školství v České republice i v zahraničí. Čtvrtá je zaměřena na archivní praxi. Pátá kapitola je zaměřena na přehledy zahraničního a mezinárodního archivnictví jak v současnosti, tak v historickém vývoji. Šestá sleduje vývoj archivnictví jako moderní vědecké disciplíny v našem prostředí.

The textbook is aimed at students of Archive Studies and Auxiliary Historical Sciences in their bachelor’s as well as master’s stage of study. The whole publication is divided into six chapters. The first chapter presents basic notions in the presented field of study. The second describes the development of the Czech archives. The third chapter presents an overview of the archival education in the Czech Republic and abroad. The fourth deals with archival practice. The fifth focuses on overviews of foreign and international archival science nowadays as well as throughout history. The last chapter features the development of archival science as a modern scholarly discipline in the Czech lands.
