Abstract
The paper aims to present selected results of the first two phases of a three-year research in teacher expertise and expert performance. Research aims include formulation of criteria for expert teacher identification, systematic analysis of the nature of expertise, and of the processes and determinants of expertise development and maintenance.

Příspěvek má za cíl představit vybrané výsledky prvních dvou fází tříletého výzkumu expertnosti učitelů a expertního výkonu. Výzkumné cíle zahrnují formulaci kritérií pro identifikaci učitelů expertů, systematickou analýzu povahy expertnosti, a také procesy a determinanty rozvoje a udržování expertnosti.
