Abstract

Les termes de «modernité liquide» ou de «vie liquide», forgés par le sociologue Zygmunt Bauman, peuvent s'appliquer au roman de Nicolas Dickner Nikolski a la fois au sens littéraire et sociologique. La métaphore de la liquidité impregne le texte a travers plusieurs themes récurrents, qui représentent, sous forme narrative, les principaux problemes sociologiques soulignés par Bauman, principalement la liquéfaction sociale a laquelle les personnages tentent de faire face. La question fondamentale est la représentation d'un tel univers littéraire liquéfié. Dickner a adopté une stratégie différente de celle de François Bon ou Michel Houellebecq, probablement moins radicale, plus romantique et ouverte. Au-dela du theme de la filiation et de la famille, son roman appelle une réflexion approfondie sur la relation entre la mémoire, le temps et l'espace, entre la liberté et la nécessité, une réflexion qui porte sur la question de la possibilité de l'écriture.

Abstract (in Czech)

Pojmy "tekutá modernita" nebo "tekutý život", které vytvořil sociolog Zygmunt Bauman, jsou příznačné pro román Nicolase Dickner Nikolski, a to jak ve významu literárním, tak sociologickém. Metafora tekutosti prostupuje text rekurentními motivy: ty ilustrují v narativní formě hlavní sociologické problémy, na něž poukázal Bauman a jimž se postavy snaží čelit. Klíčovou otázkou je způsob zobrazení takového tekutého světa. Dicknerova strategie se liší od strategie Françoise Bona či Michela Houellebecqa, je patrně méně radikální, více romantická a otevřená. Nicméně svým traktování tématu rodiny a rodičovství vybízí k důkladnému zamyšlení nad vztahem mezi pamětí, časem a prostorem, mezi svobodou a nutností, nad možností psaní.

Abstract (in English)

The terms "liquid modernity" or "liquid life", coined by the sociologist Zygmunt Bauman, may apply to Nicolas Dickner's novel Nikolski both in their literary and sociological senses. The metaphor of liquidity permeates the text through several recurring themes, which illustrate, in narrative form, the main sociological problems pointed out by Bauman, predominantly the social liquefaction which the characters try to face. The crucial question to be asked is the representability of such a liquefied literary universe. However Dickner adopted a different strategy in comparison with François Bon or Michel Houellebecq, probably a less radical one, more romantic and open, his novel calls for a thorough reflection, beyond the theme of filiation and family, on the relationship between memory, time and space, between freedom and necessity, a reflection that involves the question of the possibility of writing.
