Abstract
Full acceptance and low level of prejudice towards people with disabilities is a precondition for the participation within all types of social institutions. In our research, carried out in 2011 and 2012 within a representative sample of Czech population, we administered an adapted version of Bogardus scale of social distance. By this tool we measured attitudes towards persons with disability in the context education, work, free time and family. The results showed that attitudes towards people with disabilities are linked with factors as age, education, type of contact and level of knowledge.
