Es liegt also der Schluss nahe, dass Kasai das Barbarische an Europa herausstellt und hervorhebt, indem er es mit seiner vitalen Kraft auflädt. Die europäische Zivilisation ist barbarisch und nur ein Barbar kann sie zum absurden Vollzug bringen. Bei Franz, immerhin der Kolonisator-Gestalt des Romans, handelt es sich also um eine weitere Vertiefung seiner inner-europäischen Marginalisierung. Aus der Frage der Identität/ Alterität wird dadurch am Ende eine Frage der Marginalität, die bei Franz und Kasai gleich stark ist und in der Kindheit wurzelt.

It is therefore the conclusion that Kasai turns out the barbaric to Europe and points out, by charging it with its vital force. European civilization is barbaric and only a barbarian they can bring to the absurd enforcement. In Franz, after all, the colonizer-form of the novel, so it is a further deepening of its intra-European marginalization. From the question of identity / alterity is thus at the end of a question of marginality, which is equally strong with Franz and Kasai and rooted in childhood.
