Abstract
The aim of Chapter 2 is to provide information on the structural context of the patterns identified in the first chapter. After presenting the economic structure of the local labour market and its development, as well as the educational structure of the labour force in Brno, the main focus is put on discussing the horizontal and vertical segregation of the labour market in Brno and the related gender pay gap. Again, the main source of information is census data, supplemented by data from the labour force survey and other local sources.
