Abstract
Psychoterapie se zpočátku rozvíjela v rámci psychiatrie, postupně se z ní však stala svébytná disciplína zahrnující množství odlišných (a mnohdy soupeřících) teorií. Psychoterapie se samozřejmě i v dnešní době podstatnou měrou uplatňuje na poli zdravotnictví, vybudovala si nicméně odlišný diskurz, který se mnohdy dostává do rozporu s diskurzem medicínským. Medicínský diskurz lze charakterizovat pomocí vlastností, jako je patologizace, specifičnost účinku, instrumentální pojetí léčby, a pomocí dalších z toho vyplývajících aspektů (např. individualizace, dekontextualizace či expertní postoj lékaře). Na příkladech psychoterapeutických teorií, výzkumných designů i konkrétních výzkumů lze ukázat, že medicínský diskurz je pro psychoterapii v řadě případů nevyhovující a že je v zájmu psychoterapie samotné tento diskurz překračovat.

Psychoterapie se samozřejmě i v dnešní době podstatnou měrou uplatňuje na poli zdravotnictví, vybudovala si nicméně odlišný diskurz, který se mnohdy dostává do rozporu s diskurzem medicínským. Medicínský diskurz lze charakterizovat pomocí vlastností, jako je patologizace, specifičnost účinku, instrumentální pojetí léčby, a pomocí dalších z toho vyplývajících aspektů (např. individualizace, dekontextualizace či expertní postoj lékaře). Na příkladech psychoterapeutických teorií, výzkumných designů i konkrétních výzkumů lze ukázat, že medicínský diskurz je pro psychoterapii v řadě případů nevyhovující a že je v zájmu psychoterapie samotné tento diskurz překračovat.

Psychotherapy was initially developed in the context of psychiatry, gradually, however, it became an autonomous discipline involving a number of different (and often competing) theories. Even nowadays, psychotherapy is still applied in the field of health care. However, it has created a different discourse, which often comes into conflict with the medical discourse. The medical discourse can be characterized by aspects such as pathologization, specificity of effect, instrumental approach to treatment, and through other consequential aspects (e.g., individuation, or an expert attitude of a practitioner). Examples of psychotherapeutic theories, research designs and particular research studies are used to show that medical discourse is often unsuitable and that it is in the interest of psychotherapy itself to move beyond this discourse.
