Abstract

Publikace Modré z kypy seznamuje s obecně ne příliš známou problematikou modrotisku. Konkrétně se zaměřuje na činnost strážnické dílny Jochových, která patří mezi poslední výrobny této specifické tradiční textilie na území České republiky. Kniha přibližuje život rodiny Jochových i charakter modrotiskařské práce, především ale upozorňuje na její výslednou činnost. Technologie a provoz totiž mají u všech modrotiskových dílen obdobnou podobu, avšak pouze produkce je u každé z nich specifická. A právě jedinečnost modrotiskové výroby Jochových je vyzdvižena.

Abstract (in English)

Blue from the Vat analyses the little known subject of indigo blueprinting. In particular, it focuses on the operations of the Joch family workshop in Strážnice, which is among the last Czech facilities manufacturing this unique traditional fabric. This book examines the lives of the Joch family as well as the nature of the indigo blueprinting process, but mainly emphasises the end product. This is because the mechanisms and technologies involved in indigo blueprinting tend not to vary, yet the production process is specific to each of the workshops. It is, therefore, the uniqueness of the Joch family blueprinting manufacture that is the focus of this work.
