Článek popisuje nový protokol ResourceSync, který by měl být obecným nástrojem pro synchronizaci zdrojů (dat) na Internetu. Popis protokolu i jeho aplikace jsou zaměřeny směrem k digitálním knihovnám a repozitářům. Úvod se věnuje historii, příkladům užití a motivaci pro tvorbu tohoto protokolu a jeho vztahu k protokolu OAI-PMH. Dále je popsána základní architektura protokolu (poskytovatel, cíl, zdroj), jeho vlastnosti (možnosti synchronizace, verzování) a související procesy (discovery, notifikace). V závěru je diskutováno možné nahrazení protokolu OAI-PMH protokolem ResourceSync.

The paper describes a brand new framework ResourceSync. ResourceSync should act as a general framework for synchronization of resources on the Internet. Firstly, the paper describes its history, background and relation to the OAI-PMH protocol. Intended usage of the framework is also discussed, especially from the perspective of digital libraries and repositories. Secondly, the basic architecture, features and processes are introduced (Resource, Source, Destination, discovery, notifications, etc.). The comparison and possible replacement to the OAI-PMH protocol is discussed in the conclusion.
