Abstract

Partisan comics was very popular in the former Yugoslavia, but the medium of that particular comics type consist not only of narrative and adventurous, but educational and propaganda dimensions too. In my presentation I am focused on the theme „silence“ and „silencing“ in that type of art. I am showing what is said and presented to the readers, and what is hidden with some purpose. I am trying to answer the question what should we read in between the frames, and what is really told.

Abstract (in Czech)

Partyzánská komiks byl v bývalé Jugoslávii velmí populární, nicméně médium tohoto konkrétního typu nesestávalo pouze s narativu a dobrodružného obsahu, nýbrž obsahovalo i složku výchovnou a propagandistickou. Ve svém příspěvku se soustředím na téma "mlčení" a "umlčování" v tomto typu umění. Ukazuji, jak je prezentováno a předkládáno před čtenáře a co se za ním skrývá a za jakým účelem. Pokouším se odpovědět na otázku, co bychom měli číst mezi panely, a co se ve skutečnosti říká.
