Abstract

Lidé s duševním onemocněním jsou stigmatizováni po celém světě, míra stigmatizace se však v jednotlivých zemích liší. Cílem předkládaného výzkumu bylo zjistit míru reportovaného a zamýšleného stigmatizujícího jednání vůči lidem s duševním v České republice. Dalším cílem bylo porovnat výsledky s Velkou Británií, jakožto zemí, kde se od poloviny minulého století rozvíjí komunitní péče, a kde je tedy stigmatizace vnímána jako problém podstatně delší dobu než v ČR. Dotazníkové šetření bylo provedeno na reprezentativním vzorku české populace za pomoci škály RIBS. Zjištění byla porovnána s výsledky dotazníkového šetření na reprezentativním vzorku britské populace, které bylo provedeno za pomoci stejné škály. U škály RIBS byla prokázána velmi dobrá vnitřní konzistence. Míra stigmatizujícího jednání se v obecné české populaci se jak sama o sobě tak v porovnání s Velkou Británií ukázala jako extrémně vysoká. Pro zjištěné rozdíly se nabízí několik vysvětlení, nicméně žádné nelze potvrdit s absolutní jistotou. Další výzkum a realizace anti-stigma intervencí, programů a kampaní je silně doporučena.

Abstract (in English)

People with mental disorders are stigmatized all over the world, but the extent of stigmatization differs across the individual countries. The aim of the present study was to identify the extent of reported and intended stigmatizing behaviour towards those with mental disorders in the Czech Republic. The other aim was to compare the findings with the findings from the United Kingdom as it is a country where the community care has been put forth since the mid-20th century and where the stigmatization is therefore perceived as a problem for significantly longer time than in the Czech Republic. The RIBS was utilized as a measument tool and survey was conducted on the representative sample of the Czech population. Findings were compared with the results of the survey on the representative sample of the British population which was conducted with the same tool. The RIBS demonstrated substantial internal consistency. The extent of stigmatization in the Czech Republic has been shown to be extremely high in itself but also in comparison with the United Kindgdom. The identified differences are not easily explainable, although several suggestions has been made. Further research and anti-stigma interventions, programs and campaigns are strongly suggested.
