Abstract

While studying party politics in post-communist East-Central Europe, the Czech Republic has traditionally been considered together with Hungary and to some extent Slovenia as a case of exceptional stability.By analyzing aggregate data, the main aim of the paper is to evaluate dimensionality and development of cleavage structure of the Czech party system and – with special attention given to the two last electoral contests – the possible emergence of a new dimension of party competition related to the rise of the new political parties.

Český stranický systém byl považován spolu s maďarskám a slovinským za nejstabilnější v regionu postkomunistické střední a východní Evropy. Na základě analýzy agregovaných dat je cílem příspěvku zachytit dimenzionalitu a vývoj struktury konfliktních linií v České republice především s ohledem na volby v letech 2010 a 2013 a také případně identifikovat novou konfliktní linii související se vzestupem nových stran.
