Abstract

Die Ausgangsbasis hierfür bildete die übergesehene Publikation von O. W. Heick aus dem Jahr 1936 The ab urbe condita Construction mit umfassendem Untersuchungsmaterial. Diese wird näher vorgestellt. Die Autorin bemüht sich, die einzelnen Entwicklungsphasen der Konstruktion zu deuten, und zwar nicht nur aufgrund der von Heick gesammelten Belege, sondern auch nach ihren eigenen Vergleichsexzerptionen. Sie bringt sie mit den allgemeinen Entwicklungstendenzen in der Linguistik in Einklang. Weiter wurde die Verbreitung des dominanten Partizips in verschiedenen Bereichen und Literaturgattungen untersucht. Als die wichtigsten Verwendungsbereiche der erwähnten Konstruktion im klassischen Latein sieht die Autorin die Staatsadministration, die juristische Phraseologie und die praktische Redekunst. Alle diese Gebiete verbinden sich in der Person des M. Tullius Cicero.

Abstract (in Czech)

Východiskem je opominutá publikace O.W. Heicka z roku 1936 The ab urbe condita Construction s rozsáhlým zkoumaným materiálem, s níž jsme v této stati blíže seznámováni. Autorka se pokouší vyložit jednotlivé fáze vývoje konstrukce nejen dle Heickem sesbíraných příkladů, ale i dle vlastních srovnávacích excerpcí. Uvádí je do souladu s obecnými vývojovými tendencemi v lingvistice. Podle zjištěného rozšíření dominantního participia v různých oborech a literárních žánrech považuje autorka za nejdůležitější oblast jeho uplatnění v klasické latině státní administrativu, právnickou frazeologii a praktické řečnictví stejně jako rétoriku. Všechny oblasti jsou výrazně provázány zejména osobou M. Tullia Cicerona.

Abstract (in English)

The starting point is O. W. Heick’s 1936 book The Ab Urbe Condita Construction in Latin – it contains a broad material, which is described also in this essay. The author tries to explain particular stages of the development of the construction not only according to Heick’s examples, but also according to her own comparative excerpts. She broadens it and explains it in agreement with general developmental tendencies in linguistics. In compliance with the ascertained spread of the dominant participle in different fields and literary genres, the author considers state administration, legal phraseology and rhetoric as well as practical rhetoric the most important fields of the use of the ab urbe condita construction. All these fields are strongly connected by M. Tullius Cicero.
