Anotace

Certaines villes attirent l‘attention des écrivains contemporains beaucoup plus que les touristes. La ville de Berlin, lourdement chargée de l’Histoire du XXe siecle et ses deux grandes idéologies extremes, paraît incarner un espace propice pour une réflexion littéraire sur la portée symbolique de certains lieux emblématiques de cette ville. Représentation de l‘espace anthropologique et en meme temps structure diachronique ou s‘entassent différentes strates historiques, la ville dans son aspect spatio-temporel se prete q une investigation littéraire qui chez les écrivains contemporains qui invitent q des confrontations intéressantes. Dans cette communication, nous revenons sur deux textes qui font ressortir des aspects sociopolitiques et historiques de cette ville: La Télévision de Jean-Philippe Toussaint et Le Calvaire des chiens de Francois Bon. Le choix de ces deux romanciers contemporains laisse présager qu‘il y a autant de points de convergence entre les deux univers qu‘ils bâtissent dans leurs textes que de différences qui se pretent a une étude de confrontation. Si l‘un offre une vue sur les lieux du travail et de l‘usine, l’autre donne q voir un espace de détente, de recréation et de la fuite. Toujours est-il que le dénominateur commun des deux univers fictionnels et une description détaillée de l‘espace urbain avec ses bâtiments déshumanisés de fer, béton et verre qui permet de faire le point sur le rôle que joue l‘architecture (post- et/ou ultra-) moderne dans la littérature.

Some cities attract the attention of more contemporary writers and tourists. The city of Berlin, heavily loaded in the history of the twentieth century and its two major extreme ideologies, seems to embody a suitable space for a literary reflection on the symbolic significance of some emblematic places of the city. Representation of anthropological space and simultaneously diachronic structure crammed different historical strata, the city as a spatio-temporal aspect lends itself to a literary investigation that among contemporary writers who invite interesting confrontations. In this paper, we return to two texts that highlight socio-political and historical aspects of the city: Television by Jean-Philippe Toussaint and Calvary of dogs by François Bon. The choice of these two contemporary novelists suggests there are as many points of convergence between the two worlds they build in their texts than differences that lend themselves to a study of confrontation. If one overlooks the workplace and factory, the other gives to see a relaxation, recreation and flight. Still, the common denominator of the two fictional worlds and a detailed description of the urban space with its buildings dehumanized iron, concrete and glass that allows you to update on the role of the architecture (post- and / or ultra-) in modern literature.
