TY - JOUR ID - 1212401 AU - Krčál, Michal PY - 2014 TI - Difference between information management and knowledge management: review of literature PB - Univerzita Palackého v Olomouci CY - Olomouc SN - 9788087533079 KW - Knowledge management KW - information management KW - differences KW - definition KW - review UR - http://knowledgeconference.cz/sites/default/files/downloads/Sbornik_Znalosti2014.pdf N2 - The goal of this research is to analyse current research that deals with difference between information management and knowledge management. During past research regarding knowledge management, differences in using terms information management and knowledge management were observed. Various authors have different perception of these terms, and this fact results in problems with interpretation of knowledge management research. Theref ore, this article presents further investigation of this phenomenon. Two types of articles were used in literature review: empirical studies focused directly on difference between information management and knowledge management, and recent studies focused on defining knowledge management. Because of small number of studies, no rigorous approach to text analysis was used. Academicians and practitioners are using terms information management and knowledge management interchangeably, which was confirmed by empirical studies focused on perception of differences between information management and knowledge management. The outcome of this research is recommendation for further research in the form of research questions that will be further operationalised in ongoing research. ER -
