Consequently, inhabitants of Slovakia do not have lot of experiences with foreigners and their views are shaped by various stereotypes. Integration policies applied by Slovakia display various shortcomings, Slovakia belong to EU countries with greatest challenges ahead as far as potential changes are concerned. Attitudes of Slovak inhabitants toward foreigners are structurally influenced by ethnicization of public sphere and by protection of etnicized „core group“. Migration is framed in Slovak political discourse as a topic almost exclusively connected to security and securitization is overwhelming the political scene without significant differences between right and left political parties. Media in Slovakia play rather negative role in the process of shaping attitudes toward migrants and cultivating public sphere. Media in fact reproduce negative political discourse framed predominantly by politicians and focused on securitization. Media, however, can play an important role the process of deconstruction and re-construction of principles on which society is build and reproduced.
