O artigo desenvolve a problemática do sujeito e das configuraçoes das máscaras do duplo na novela “Rio Turvo” (1945) de Branquinho da Fonseca. A análise apoia-se nas propostas psicanalíticas de J. Kristeva, S. Freud e C.G. Jung, aludindo também a concepcoes mitológicas/arquetípicas de R. Girard e G. Bachelard.

Článek se zaměřuje na problematiku subjektu a konfigurace dvojnických masek v novele Neklidná řeka (1945) port. prozaika Branquinha da Fonseky. Analýza se opírá jednak o psychoanalytické koncepty J. Kristevy, C.G. Junga a S. Freuda, jednak o mytologicko-symbolické úvahy R. Girarda a G. Bachelarda, kteří z psychoanalýzy vycházeli.

The paper deals with the question of the double in "Rio Turvo" (1945) by Branquinho da Fonseca. Based on some relevant principles of psychoanalysis (Kristeva, Freud, Jung), as well as on a mythological/archetypal approach (Girard, Bachelard), the analysis focuses on the problem of the subject and the configuration of his masques.
