Abstract
The chapter focuses on terrorist and violent extremist attacks against schools and pupils in Europe. Discussed are the reasons why schools can serve as targets, what kind of danger is represented, in which context of political extremism and terrorism, and what consequences and challenges it brings in the issue of managigng terrorist threats (the possibility of early warning mechanisms, prevention nad preparedness). The emergency plans of American schools are considered as good practice.
