Abstract

Stosunek filozofii i nauki stał się tematem badań dopiero z powstaniem nowożytnej (eksperymentalnej) nauki. Filozofia postrzega siebie samą jako swoistą sferę kultury, pewien rodzaj działalności pełniący określone funkcje – wtedy nauka jest jednym z możliwych tematów jej zainteresowań, tak samo jak prawo, sztuka, język, historia może tematyzować na przykład filozoficzne fundamenty nauki, rozwój nauki, odpowiadać na pytanie czym jest nauka, ewentualnie budować teorię nauki jako nauczanie o metodach i metodologii. Problem nauki traktowali też dva wybitnych filozofów czeskich – T. G. Masaryk i Jan Patočka.

Vztah filozofie a vědy byl tematizován až se vznikem novověké (experimentální) vědy. Filozofie se pokládá za svébytnou sféru kultury, určitý druh duchovní aktivity, a pak věda je jedním z možných témat jejího zájmu, stejně jako právo, umění, jazyk, dějiny, a filozofie může tematizovat například filozofické základy vědy, vývoj vědy, odpovídat na otázku, co je věda, zkoumat jazyk vědy apod. Otázkou je, jak problém vědy chápali dva přední čeští filozofové 20. století – T. G. Masaryk a Jan Patočka.

Abstract (in English)

The relationship between philosophy and science came into focus only with the rise of modern (experimental) science. Philosophy is considered as a special sphere of culture, a particular form of spiritual activity; science, then, is one of its potential objects of study, like law, art, language, history. Philosophy can treat the philosophical foundations of science, the development of science, the demarcation of science and its language. This paper focuses on the way that the relationship was treated in the works of two key philosophers of the 20th century – T. G. Masaryk and Jan Patočka.
