Abstract
We follow the classical approach to FCIs of Kadmon and Landman (1993) - treating Czech FCIs as indefinites with additional strengthening and widening licensing condition: they are licensed only in the contexts where they logically strengthen the meaning of the sentence (compared to regular indefinites). Logical strength is defined in terms of entailment: logically stronger statement asymmetrically entails the weaker one. FCI and n-word are no more competitors for insertion in the context of negated possibility modal, because each form corresponds to different meaning of the proposition.
