Čtverec, jako jeden z nejjednodušších mnohoúhelníků, má velký motivační potenciál pro mnoho dalších matematických témat. Jeho prostřednictvím je možné provádět důkazy některých matematických vět,odvozovat vlastnosti dalších geometrických útvarů, rozvíjet kombinatorické myšlení apod. V příspěvku je uvedeno několik ukázek využití čtverce a jeho vlastností.

The square, as one of the simplest polygons, has a great motivating potential for many other matematical topics. Via this polygon, it is possible to prove some mathematical theorems, derive the properties of other geometric shapes, develop combinatorial thinking, etc. The contribution comprises several samples of using the square and its properties.
