The aim of this article is to explore the spatial patterns of electoral support for candidates in the 2013 direct presidential election in the Czech Republic. Firstly, variability in the election results is analysed. After which, the effect of socioeconomic variables on the results of candidates is tested using regression analysis. By means of regression analysis we are able to explain a considerable proportion of the spatial differences affecting candidates’ election results, as identified in the initial section of the article. Finally, our results are compared with theoretical assumptions and findings from previous research in the field of electoral geography in the Czech Republic

Cílem článku je podat vysvětlení základní prostorové podpory jednotlivých kandidátů v prezidentských volbách 2013. Sledována je jak variabilita, tak i případná volební stabilita. Následně dochází k testování vzájemných proměnných prostřednictvím regresní analýzy za účelem možného vysvětlení volební podpory jednotlivých kandidátů. V závěru jsou volební výsledky srovnány s teoretickými poznatky o volební geografii v České Republice.
