Abstract

Traditional folk culture played an important role in formation of the Czech state, especially as the bearer of patriotism. Nowadays remnants of the folk culture are deposited in museums, where they are out of interest. In cooperation with the Faculty of Philosophy, a project called „Geographical information system for traditional folk culture (1750–1900)” was started. Our goal is to gather information about the folk culture from different sources and publish it as web GIS.
