Abstract

Dans le contexte québécois, la poétique de Michel Tremblay représente une tentative de transfiguration de l’axiologie plébéienne en littérature élevée, de portée universelle. Le joual, langue de la périphérie montréalaise, et ses locuteurs, personnages souvent marginaux, sont mis en valeur par l’application des principes du drame religieux, de la tragédie grecque et de l’opéra qui s’inscrivent dans les procédés constitutifs des pieces de théâtre et des proses. Or, il ne s’agit pas seulement, chez Tremblay, d’un usage subtile des genres et de leur interaction, mais d’une écriture qui pose des questions fondamentales sur les limites et la nature de la mimésis et les qualités de la parole, autrement dit sur les potentialités de la représentation par la parole et de la parole. Les réflexions générales de la partie introductive sont illustrées par les différentes modalités exploitées par Michel Tremblay, notamment dans les romans Le Premier Quartier de la lune (1989), Le cahier noir (2003), La Traversée de la ville (2008), et la piece de théâtre Sainte Carmen de la Main (1976).

V kontextu quebecké literatury představuje poetika Michela Tremblaye pokus o transfiguraci plebejské axiologie ve vysokou literaturu univerzálního dosahu. Joual, jazyk montrealské periférie, a jeho uživatelé pocházející často z marginalizovaných společenských vrstev procházejí proměnou, která čerpá z postupů řecké tragédie a opery. Tyto postupy se uplatňují v autorových divadelních hrách a románech. V Tremblayově případě se ovšem nejedná jen o využití jednotlivých žánrů a jejich interakci, nýbrž o tvorbu, která klade základní otázky týkající se podstaty mimeze, vlastností řeči, či lépe řečeno problému zobrazení řeči a prostřednictvím řeči. Úvodní obecné úvahy jsou v články exeplifikovány na tvorbě Michela Tremblaye, jmenovitě na románech Le Premier Quartier de la lune (1989), Le cahier noir (2003), La Traversée de la ville (2008) a na divadelní hře Sainte Carmen de la Main (1976).

Abstract (in English)

In the frame of Quebec literature, Michel Tremblay's poetics is an attempt to transfiguration of plebeian axiology in high literature, universal in scope. The slang of the Montreal periphery (so called joual) and its speakers, which are mostly marginal characters, are highlighted by the application of the principles of religious drama, Greek tragedy and opera as the constituent parts of Tremblay's theater and prose. To identify and illustrate these principles at different structural levels, the paper analyses the novels Le Premier Quartier de la lune (1989), Le cahier noir (2003), La Traversée de la ville (2008) and the drama Sainte Carmen de la Main (1976).
