Abstract

The paper deals with a manner of interpretation of ancient Japanese myths grounded in the two national Chronicles of Kojiki and Nihonshoki, mainly in their early parts describing legends from the Age of Men. Based on recent archaeological and historical evidence I endeavour to reconstruct the process of state formation that took place simultaneously with religious formalization regarding the worship of the most ancient Japanese deities, the kami.

Témou příspěvku byl způsob interpretace japonských mýtů shrnutých v dvou nejstarších kronikách Kodžiki a Nihonšoki, zejména jejich nejdávnějších částí popisujících legendy z Věku lidí a jejich založení japonského císařství. Na základě posledních archeologických a historických důkazů se pokusím zrekonstruovat průběh utváření ranního státu, jež se odehrávalo současně s ustalováním způsobu uctívání původních japonských božstev kami.
