Abstract

Kniha nabízí paletu různých přístupů k výzkumu témat spojených s komunálními volbami v prostředí extrémně fragmentované místní samosprávy. Její ambicí je sumarizovat dosavadní stav bádání, stejně jako nabídnout české politologické obci nové pohledy a techniky výzkumu. Ty jsou založeny na práci s kompletními či téměř kompletními datovými sadami, týkajícími se kandidátů, zastupitelů, hlasů, radních a starostů. Nevydali jsme se cestou dílčích případových studií, ale právě skrze pokročilé techniky výzkumu se pokoušíme přinést pohledy na pokud možno kompletní českou, moravskou a slezskou komunální scénu v uplynulém dvacetiletí.

Abstract (in English)

The book Twenty Years of Local Elections in the CR presents various approaches to researching themes that are tied to local elections in environments where local authorities are highly fragmented. The book summarizes studies that have been done so far and acquaints Czech political scientists with new viewpoints and new research methods that have grown out of work with comprehensive or near-comprehensive datasets of candidates, representatives, votes, councillors, and mayors. We have not gone the route of individual case studies, preferring instead to utilize advanced research methodology that affords greater insight into twentieth-century Czech, Moravian, and Silesian communities.
