In the case of selenium the substitution was insufficient, while in manganese it led contrarily to its markedly raised concentration in the whole blood. In long-term HPN the status of trace elements in the organism has to be continually monitored and the daily substitution doses of these elements have to be flexibly adjusted. ER -
