Abstract
Kapitola poskytuje jasné definice poruch krevních plynů, tj. hypo / hypoxémie a hypo / hyperkapnie. Je diskutována toxicita kyslíku a do hloubky je popsána patogeneze hypoxémie u ARDS, zahrnuty jsou i pojmy permisivní hyperkapnie a hypoxemie. Kapitola obsahuje také klinicky platná doporučení ohledně krevních plynů u pacientů s ARDS.
