The robot—the dramatic character —appeared on the theatrical stage for the first time in the play R.U.R., Rossum’s Universal Robots by Karel Čapek in 1921. Since then, the play has been staged in rapid succession on theatrical stages worldwide. Jana Horaková will present an overview of various representations of the robot on the theatrical stages of the 20th and 21st centuries. The metamorphosis of the robot in visualizations and semantics during this period will be illustrated through photographs and videos of performances.

Robot jako dramatická postava se objevil na divadelní scéně poprvé ve hře Karla Čapka R.U.R., Rossum's Universal Robots, v roce 1921. Od té doby byla hra inscenována v rychlém sledu po celém světě. Přednáška je koncipována jako přehled různých reprezentací robota v divadelních inscenacích a robotických performancích 20. a 21. století. Vizuální a sémantické proměny robota v jednotlivých pojetích budou ilustrovány fotografickým a AV-materiálem.
