Abstract

Článek se zabývá historií tvorby názvů a značek (symbolů) chemických prvků a názvosloví anorganickýchsloučenin od starověku po současnost. U prvků je dán důraz na přechod od geometrických značek a symbolů prvků alchymistů, přes grafické symboly počátku 19. století, až k novým symbolům prvků, založených na písmenech odvozených od jejich latinských názvů. U sloučenin je poukázáno na psaní symbolů jednotlivých prvků vedle sebe a psaní spodních číselných indexů u daného prvku. Zmíněna je i role Mezinárodní unie pro čistou a užitou chemii (IUPAC) a její názvoslovné komise pro anorganickou chemii a také pokusy o tvorbu „ryze“ českých názvů chemických prvků a sloučenin v době obrozenecké. Abstract (in English)

In this paper the history of the formation of names and symbols and the nomenclature of inorganic compounds from the ancient times to the present is presented. For elements the emphasis on the change from geometrical symbols of elements of alchemists through graphical symbols of the 19th century to new symbols of elements, based on letters derived from their Latin names, is given. For compounds the writing of symbols of individual elements side by side and lower numeric indexes by given element is refer. The role of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) and its nomenclature commission for the inorganic chemistry and also attempts of the formation of „purely“ Czech names of chemical elements and compounds in the period of the revivalist time is mentioned.
