The chapter describes basic facts about the online addiction. The chapter addresses history of this phenomenon, shows case study of the online addiction, introduces various definitions and also prevalence statistics. The chapter also shows basic psycho-social characteristics which are associated with online addiction and describes basic approaches to the treatment of online addiction.
