The paper describes several complex activities, presents examples of students’ work, discusses benefits and drawbacks of individual tasks and suggests further alternatives. The activities combine pre-session preparation and in-class work. When preparing the students should be well aware of the aims of the tasks to be able to produce a piece of work which will enable them to practice the language effectively. The activities are designed to support students’ critical thinking and to eliminate "paste & copy" approach. As a whole, they lead to more personalized, communicative and creative tasks. ER -
