Abstract

Dějiny lidstva vždy sloužily a stále slouží jako nevyčerpatelný zdroj poznání. Podobně i životopisy slavných jsou pro nás poučením, neboť na jejich základě můžeme usuzovat na motivaci, která řídila jednání těchto slavných osobností. Náš příspěvek se zabývá životem a dílem dvou stejně významných vynálezců, jejichž motivace, způsob práce i realizace výsledků se od sebe diametrálně lišily. Přesto lze konstatovat, že jak Thomas Edison, tak Nikola Tesla se nesmazatelně zapsali do dějin přírodních a technických věd.

Abstract (in English)

The history of mankind have always served and still serves as an inexhaustible source of knowledge. Similarly, biographies of great personage are instruction for us, because based on them, we can consider the motivation that drove the behavior of these celebrities. Our contribution deals with the life and work of two equally important inventors whose motivation, method of work and implementation of results from each diametrically opposed. It can be stated that both Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla made an indelible mark on the history of natural and technical sciences.
