Abstract
We present a new, few-parameter phenomenological model of light curves of eclipsing binaries and stars with transiting planets. The model is able to fit the observed light curves with an accuracy better than 1% of their amplitudes. It can be used for appropriate descriptions of light curve shapes, classification, mid-eclipse time determination, and detailed period analyses.
