Abstract
This work analyses nutrition habits in two different small schools. They are Elementary School with classical curriculum in the village of Vrdy and Elementary School the curriculum of which follows the principles of Montessori pedagogy in Brno-Vinohrady. The Elementary School in Vrdy has got its own kitchen and canteen; children are being waited on by cooks. The Montessori Elementary School takes meals from neighbouring elementary school; the school has got only self-service canteen under the supervision of assistants and teachers. Both schools were subjects to questionnaire survey the aim of which was to find out about the nutrition habits of children who attend the first elementary grade, i.e. from first to fourth form. Fourty-two children from both schools participated in the questionnaire survey.
