Abstract

V originále

This work introduces the history of American football which is popular mainly as a men’s sport for 11 players. Women’s American football has the same rules as men’s; however, it is mostly played by a smaller number of players – usually seven. One of American football female teams is the Amazons Club based in Brno, Czech Republic. Altogether, the team consist of 30 players aged 17 - 31. This work presents the analysis of the daily diet of 7 chosen at random players of the team. The collected data for energy, carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals and microelements are compared with the recommended daily limits of the group of girls and women aged 19 - 34 who perform physically demanding work. It was found out that the players of the Amazon Brno Club have low daily supply of energy, carbohydrates, fats and vitamins. The supply of proteins is high. With respect to minerals, the supply of calcium and magnesium is below the limit; on the contrary, the supply of sodium, potassium and phosphor is too high. The supply of microelements was found to be within or slightly below the limit.
