Abstract

Cílem příspěvku je ukázat v nové perspektivě debatu mezi proponenty narativní teorie osobní identity a jejími oponenty. Nejprve načrtnu samotnou debatu a pokusím se identifikovat hlavní bod nesouhlasu mezi oběma stranami. Poté ukáži, jak může být nahlédnut představený konflikt z pohledu teorie asymetrie mozkových hemisfér. Z této pozice pak budu argumentovat proti tvrzení narativních teoretiků, že explicitnější části osobního narativu patří více svému majiteli než části nevědomé.

Abstract (in English)

The aim of this paper is to show a new perspective, how the debate between proponents of narrative theory of personal identity and its opponents could be seen. I will sketch this debate and try to identify the main point, where the dissent may lay. Afterwards I will show, how this conflict could be seen from the perspective of the brain hemisphere asymmetry. From this position I will argue mainly against the claim of narrative theory, that more explicit parts of personal narrative belong more to the owner than the implicit parts.
