TY - CHAP ID - 1351233 AU - Kaniok, Petr PY - 2016 TI - Eurosceptics we remain? Czech Republic, Euroscepticism and 2014 EP election VL - Studies on the History of European Integration PB - Franz Steiner Verlag CY - Stuttgart SN - 9783515114554 KW - Euroscepticism - European elections 2014 - Czech Republic - ODS - ANO 2011 - second order N2 - This chapter describes and evaluates existing Czech Eurosceptic political parties with particular focus on their performance in 2014 EP election. First part of the article focuses on conceptualization of Euroscepticism that is used in analysis. After that, context and historical development of Czech Euroscepticism is briefly explained. Third part of the chapter deals with election campaign and results of 2014 EP election. Last section comments on implications of the election for Czech Euroscepticism. As the main findings of the chapter can be identified a) continued weakening of the Czech Euroscepticism and b) its continuous high level of its fragmentation. Therefore, Euroscepticism does not seem to be significant and important phenomenon affecting current Czech politics and current Czech EU policy. And there is hardly any reasonable reason why its importance should change. ER -
