Abstract

L'Amérique hante l’imaginaire. Le reve du bonheur se heurte a la déception sans pour autant mettre en question le désir du recommencement qu’il s’agisse de l’aventure individuelle ou collective. L’article analyse de ce point de vue l’approche de deux auteurs, Yves Berger (Le Fou d’Amérique, 1983) et Noël Audet (Frontieres ou Tableaux d’Amérique, 1995). La comparaison se propose de croiser le regard externe, français, au regard américain, québécois, ne serait-ce que comme un bref aperçu de deux modalités possibles du reve civilisationnel.

Amerika provokuje obrazotvornost. Sen o štěstí přitom střídá zklamání, aniž by se zpochybnila touha po opětovném pokusu o štěstí ať individuální, nebo kolektivní. Článek z tohoto hlediska analyzuje dva autory: Yvese Bergera (Le Fou d’Amérique, 1983) a Noëla Audeta (Frontieres ou Tableaux d’Amérique, 1995). Ve srovnání se střetá pohled vnější - francouzský - a americkým, přesněji řečeno quebeckým. Oba představují dva modely civilizačního snu.

Abstract (in English)

America haunts literary and cultural imaginations. The American dream of happiness faces repeated disappointments without questioning the desire of the recommencement, be it an individual or a collective adventure. The paper analyzes from this point of view the approaches of two authors and two novels, Yves Berger (Le Fou d’Amérique, 1983) and Noël Audet (Frontiees ou Tableaux d’Amérique, 1995). The comparison aims to cross a French perspective and a Quebecer one in a brief overview of two possible terms of a civilizational dream.
