Abstract
With relation to historical migrations, the hypothesis about the origin of speakers of Tocharian A is formulated in the article, followed by the overview of forms of the name „Buddha“ in Tocharian, Sogdian, Old Turkic and Chinese. Contribution is concluded by the innovation of the etymology of the Old Turkic title Khagan.

S přihlédnutím k historickým migracím je v článku formulována hypotéza o původu mluvčích tocharštiny A. Dále je komentován přehled tvarů jména „Buddha“ v tocharštině, sogdštině, staré turkičtině a čínštině a inovována etymologie staroturkického titulu „Khagan“.
