Abstract
The programme of the conference was destined for training teachers of Mandarin Chinese targeted at non-native speakers. The main issue was the Central European context as a relatively high potential that deserves more attention than it receives now, which constitutes a scientific, educational and commercial niche that is yet to be occupied. The Center for Chinese Studies of Masaryk University organized the launch of TCCEC where participants exchanged ideas, and discussed possibilities of creating projects of mutual interest in the field of teaching Chinese as a second language.
