Abstract
The chapter is focused on the aesthetics of the natural environment. The first part deals with the contemporary philosophical aesthetics of nature, rooted in the late 1960s in English speaking world (Hepburn, Carlson, Berleant atc.). The second and the third part of the chapter analyse influences of the sciences on this field and attempts of some of the sciences to interpret our aesthetic appreciation of landscape.
