Abstract

Kniha autorů z Katedry mezinárodních vztahů a evropských studií Fakulty sociálních studií Masarykovy univerzity je v českém prostředí unikátní publikací, která vůbec poprvé nabízí souborný vhled do hlavních oblastí oboru Mezinárodní vztahy. V devíti kapitolách čtenářům předkládá komplexní rozbor hlavních konceptů, aktérů a témat, jež jsou určující pro reálné dění ve světě i pro odborné studium současného mezinárodního systému. Autoři se zejména snažili podchytit mocenskou podstatu mezinárodních vztahů a na analýze jejich klíčových aspektů ukázat, jak fungují politické a ekonomické procesy v mezinárodním prostředí. Kniha má ambice být zásadní pomůckou jak pro všechny odborníky i studenty, kteří se mezinárodními vztahy zabývají, tak i pro širší veřejnost se zájmem o mezinárodní dění.

Abstract (in English)

The book, written by a group of authors affiliated to the Dept. of IR and European Studies of Masaryk University in Brno, is the very first publication of the Czech origin that presents an extensive and comprehensive explanation of underlying principles of IR as a discipline. Its nine chapters summarize the most important concepts and issues which are fundamental for the operation of the international system and its scientific exploration, and present their analysis. The authors aim to capture the power base of international system, and elaborate the political and economic processes shaping the international environment. The book aspires to be an indispensable tool for all those who want to thoroughly understand the substance and operation of the international system.
