The mechanical properties of such layers can be either measured di-rectly using special nanohardness equipments, or indirectly using various mathematical - phys-ical models using conventional testers. Our work deals with a simple model for determining the microhardness of thin layers from known microhardness of substrate and "compound" one of system substrate + layer.
